Whitbourne Farm is a working, family farm on the beautiful Longleat Estate in Wiltshire. We took charge of the farm in 2000 and began the new millennium as sheep farmers; a hard but rewarding profession. Thus, we were delighted to welcome our son to work alongside us at Whitbourne Farm on his return from Australia in 2013. After more than a decade, it was time for the younger generation to chase after the sheep and an opportunity for me to fulfil a lifelong dream – to grow and harvest lavender!
In 2014 we planted the very first crop of lavender and year by year the acreage continues to increase. We grow the finest English varieties of lavender: Hidcote, Munstead and Havana. English lavender is renowned , not only for its deep colour and fragrance, but also for its calming, therapeutic and medicinal qualities.
Over the last year we have worked with a local company to develop handmade toiletries of the highest quality using our lavender and we are thrilled and proud that these products are now available to purchase. To compliment our range of toiletries, we also offer beautifully embroidered aprons and tea towels made of the softest cotton from Portugal.
